Worship Team

We are a multigenerational team that loves to worship God! We enjoy a contemporary style of worship playing modern songs and older hymns which we believe reflects our diverse community. Our values are centred upon the glorification of God alone, and our heart is to serve the body with excellence and be spirit led.

We hold regular team practices and worship times to help us grow collectively in worship and in our musical ability. All of the team are committed to the ministry, this includes working with closer relationship to the Audio-Visual Team. We strive to create a team environment where everyone is encouraged and given the opportunity to grow as God calls them.  We also have gifting within our team for writing and sharing of new worship songs. 

We actively encourage members of the church with a desire to join the team to express their interest to the Music Director, Laura Empson (adhering to 6 month church policy unless intern). Or, if you are someone currently not a member of the church, but looking for a voluntary internship in worship and worship leading, please do contact Laura via email: MusicDirectorCCE@gmail.com and we would love to chat through options with you. 

A little about the Music Director – Laura is a 30 something worship leader who has been part of Christ Church with her husband and children for 7 years. She loves the outdoors and of course – worship! Laura became a member of staff at Christ Church in 2021, following fundraising for her salary, to provide an opportunity for the ministry to increase its capacity and reach.
